The conference keynote speaker, renowned journalist and longtime friend of Ukraine, Diane Francis, highlighted Europe's increasing efforts to strengthen their defence capabilities and support Ukraine, crucial steps toward stopping Putin, potentially weakening Russia’s economy, and forcing a retreat. In recent years, Ukraine has emerged as a technological center of excellence, and with its smart, hard-working population, the country is well-positioned for economic recovery and long-term growth.
Diane Francis (in-person) is Editor-at-Large at Canada’s National Post, a columnist for the Kyiv Post, and a Non-Resident Senior Fellow at the Atlantic Council’s Eurasia Center. An award-winning journalist and bestselling author, she is known for her bold, investigative writing on geopolitics, corruption, technology, and the Ukraine-Russia conflict. With a global following of over 240,000 on Twitter, she is a prominent voice on transatlantic affairs, Canadian-American relations, and Putin’s regime.
Francis was the first female editor of a national daily in Canada, leading the Financial Post from 1991 until its sale in 1998. She has authored ten books and currently lectures at Singularity University in California, while serving on several international policy and anti-corruption boards, including the Hudson Institute’s Kleptocracy Initiative and the Canada-US Law Institute.
