L43, the daily Fort Wayne to Claypool, IN local is coming into town to service the Louis Dreyfus soybean processing facility. We’ll see it coming, running around their train after completing the work at Dreyfus and then heading home. Until a week ago or so this train usually had a single SD60E for power. All the times I’ve caught it the 7012 has been charged with this assignment. The last couple of times I’ve seen it there it has had the GP38-2 5327 along with the 7012. The train rolled into town this day with 45 cars but went back to Fort Wayne with only 13 cars. And the conductor today, Ryan Shepanski was truly a goodwill ambassador for NS. Too bad there weren’t a bunch of kids out here with me, they would have loved his friendly demeanor. My granddaughter wants to come out with me when I film. She would have absolutely loved Ryan’s greetings had I brought her this day.
And we have an extra treat with the former Erie Lackawanna trailer turned storage unit.
