Discovering Somerset is a trilogy of films in which Henry Buckton explores the history and culture of the county and interviews a wide range of people about a diverse range of subjects and places of interest. All three films are available from 1st-Take Productions by visiting their website www.1st-take.com. The first film is a tour of north Somerset from the Georgian splendor of Bath to the delights of Weston-super-Mare. We learn about the coal industry around Radstock and Midsomer Norton; visit Cheddar to see how cheese is made; find out about how the Clifton Suspension Bridge was built; and learn about local beer at the Butcombe Brewery. The film also includes trips to the Stanton Drew Stone Circles, the Somerset Coal Canal and the Somerset and Dorset Railway Museum, and many more.
