David Aprahamian Liddle plays Morning Song by Alfred Hollins on the organ at the Caird Hall Dundee, built in 1922 by Harrison & Harrison, and designed by Alfred Hollins.
On hearing Hollins play through this newly composed piece in 1916, the Methodist Minister, William Fiddian Moulton commented: “It seems to me to suggest someone who has had a good night’s sleep and begins a new day in cheerfulness and hope. There is something so delightfully fresh about it”. Morning Song is dedicated to Mr Carl Oliver, Conductor of the Potteries Choral Society at Hanley, Staffordshire.
