Getting this 1958 Ford Tudor 300 parts car out of the Junkyard was tough, as it was in a bad spot, and as you can see, it took a BAD hit getting it out of there. So instead of crying over spilt milk let's dive into 1950's automotive safety where you can see the beginnings of "crumple-zone" designs that help save lives to this very day.
Back in these years (all the way back to the beginnings) they used what is called the "Floating Front Clip" or "Floating Nose" design, and in it I do my best to explain how this design actually works to absorb that shock energy in the event of a front-end collision.
I hope you all enjoy my rambles and bambles in this as I get all the stuff together to get this 58 Ford 300 back on the road to take to the 2nd annual running of the #NoNameNationals this coming September in Sikeston MO.
See you all there!
