For my second Bears season, I’m going back to 1986—one year removed from the legendary Super Bowl team—and trying to run it back with this roster. Jim McMahon leads the offense with pretty average ratings overall, but slightly better than the Caleb Williams version I used in the 2025 season. As expected, the offense will funnel through Walter Payton, who remains one of the most dominant backs in the game and the centerpiece of this team.
Where things truly get unfair is the defense. Up front, you’ve got Mongo, Richard Dent, Dan Hampton, and Mike Singletary—all with elite quickness and disruptive ability. They collapse plays instantly and force mistakes every possession. In the secondary, nearly everyone brings great speed and strong interception ability, making it tough for opponents to stretch the field or get comfortable throwing the ball.
