Demonstration of a 44 pound Bruce anchor being set at 3.5 to 1 scope and then pulled with high force (910 pounds). The anchor failed to remain engaged to the seabed and dragged.
A second attempt was made after increasing scope to 5 to 1. The anchor held better but ultimately, it was unable to remain engaged to the seabed.
