Not long ago, someone sent me a flick of a piece I painted back in 2023 on a holy roller out in Pennsylvania. That was during the time I was experimenting with the name Nyquil.
The year before, I had seen a scribe from IcyHot and thought, “Man, that’s such a great name — I need a funny side name too.” Later, while talking to my homie, I found out it was actually him! That’s when I started brainstorming with Tenshi, and she hit me with “What about Nyquil?” I knew instantly — that was the one.
The cool thing about side names is the challenge and growth you get from tackling different letters. It really helped me level up as a writer. I rocked Nyquil for about a year, but it’s been nearly two years since I last painted it. So when that photo of my train in Pennsylvania landed in my inbox, I thought: Yeah, it’s time to bring that back.
And that’s exactly what went down here.
