From his early days as a young poet in Amritsar to his tragic death on the streets of Lahore in 1974, this video traces the rise and fall of a man remembered as the “Poet of Pain.” His verses of love, rebellion, and loneliness continue to resonate across generations, and in 2023 he was posthumously awarded the Sitara-i-Imtiaz for his enduring contribution to Urdu literature.
