[Sonic ROM Hack] Sonic Tetris - Sonic 1 Playthrough

At some point in time, I used to really like Tetris. I got hooked on Tetris 99 and would try pretty much anything modern Tetris there was. Can't say I was competitive gaming material, but I was decent enough.

If you were expecting modern Tetris from this... you might get a little disappointed.

Sonic Tetris! A weird combination between classic and modern Tetris. There's no hard drops, no holding pieces, and you can only read one piece ahead of you. But, you can do T-Spins, though sometimes the game gets weird about reading them if you're too close to them.

In the Sonic 1 game mode, you play through Sonic 1, except the Special Stages are replaced by dirty Tetris boards: taller, faster, and more chaotic as the stages go on. Oddly, entering a Special Stage in Marble 2 can cause a game crash.

You also have a marathon mode and a 40 lines mode, which I might consider covering. No promises, though.

The game's accompanied by some absolutely kick-ass rearrangements of the original level music. As a younger fellow, I thought these were too good to be coming out of a Mega Drive. Even now, I still regard them as among the best I've heard.

Overall, the hack's worth at least one playthrough, especially if you like Tetris.
