Bangkok is the most visited city on Earth, yet five minutes from one of its busiest attractions, an entire silk story often goes unnoticed.
Across the canal from the Jim Thompson Museum is Ban Krua, one of the oldest Muslim communities in Bangkok and the birthplace of modern Thai silk. While millions admire the beauty of the fabrics and the museum, very few cross the canal to discover where it all started.
In this walk:
– The Cham community behind Thai silk
– Noodles by the railway and places Google Maps won’t recommend
– Canals and teak wood houses
– An art book fair in GalileOasis, design store, and modern creative culture
– Jim Thompson Art Center
This is Bangkok beyond landmarks. I love and want to share with you.
