This was a hardcore show put on by the Not for the Weak record label. The line-up was comprised of three local bands (Reckoning Force, Spike Pit and Relief) while the other two were visiting acts from Charlotte, North Carolina (Mutant Strain) and Richmond, Virginia (Private Hell).

Shows like this are the reason I record. Documenting the local scene and visiting bands was something I felt needed to be saved and archived. The Norfolk, Virginia scene might not be as huge as what you'd find in Richmond, Virginia, but the area has some underrated talent.

I shot this video standing on a bench pointing down; I took a couple potshots from a couple wayward pit dancers who broke through a line of audience members who stood to my left. The effect on my video is fairly evident. That shakiness/blurriness were induced by hits I took. The next day, my shins were killing me! I swear, I put my body through some abuse at hardcore shows just to get the shot! LOL

I shot this show with the new set-up I've used starting with the High on Fire/Municipal Waste/GEL videos on this channel: my iPhone 13 Pro and Sonic Presence Binaural microphones. I'm now doing video edits with iMovie before encoding so I can concentrate on sound during post. When I have the spare time inbetween sets, I can do them quickly.
