X8 Demake Mega Rhonn's Mod v1.0 Playthrough

Hey all! Today's demake mod showcase is from community member Mega Rhonn (their channel and mod will be linked below). This mod in it's current state builds on some of the things that the TG' Tweaks mod had done with some changes to Zero's gameplay with the aim to make him feel smoother.
Some additional changes were made which, admittedly, I don't think work really well in their current state. The big one is perhaps the change to Glaive Raikousen. It was changed to function similarly to his other weapons where it now has a fixed invincible dash length. The main issue with this however is that due to the hitbox on the Glaive, the lightning strikes will do nowhere near as much as before. This is not the only damage nerf as the Antonion skill with the T. Breaker also doesn't do nearly as much damage as it does in the TG Tweaks mod despite being based off it. If the idea was to make Zero's damage more normalized, I could see why. However, the Panda Knuckles skill still does the insane amount of damage it did prior so I'm not sure what happened here with the weapon balance. The TG Tweaks to Axl's balance are pretty much unchanged here outside of a change to dash length. The Hermes legs have their double air dash buff from the TG mod, but Icarus legs not only were reverted to their Zash mod v1.0.0.4 state but the first jump can go even higher now, which not only makes it potentially even clunkier to use in tight area, it also kinda goes back to making the Hermes legs feel like the weaker option of the two rather than a sidegrade.
Then there's the return of the flying Rasetsusen. While it can be fun to use, the mechanic as a whole kinda just breaks the level design of the game, especially given that you can get this as your first boss weapon quite easily and Black Zero isn't necessary for it. Even Axl needs the White armor to get his infinite flight, and it's nowhere near as fast.
I'm not trying to be harsh on the mod or anything given that this is only v1.0. While I think balancing could probably be looked at for the mod, it's ultimately a subjective thing and I'm only one perspective (even if it IS a well experienced one lol). There's still plenty of other things to like about the mod. The new portraits on Intro start and for X's dialogue look pretty good, and the alternate music choices and SFX are nice too. If you'd like a bit of a visual change to the Zash mod, this one will probably be a good ez start for you.
