Dr. Lauren Gardner and I share our perspectives on Thelema, relationships, and personal growth. We explore how the principles of Thelema can be applied to dating, relationships, and making good life choices in general. She brings her unique insights into the intersection of spirituality and psychology, offering perspectives that make Thelema both accessible and practical.

Dr. Lauren Gardner's esoteric background encompasses two decades of combined study, practice, and teaching within the Golden Dawn and A∴A∴ systems. She is an organizer and presenter for ThelemaCon, has presented workshops at the past three NOTOCONs, and has written a number of articles and book chapters on contemporary Western esotericism and Thelema. She also has a number of scholarly professional publications, and regularly presents psychotherapy training workshops.

Professionally, Dr. Gardner also works as a psychotherapist in private practice in Chapel Hill, NC, where she shares an office suite with her husband, Dr. David Shoemaker. She was recently elected to the Executive Council of the American Academy of Psychotherapists for the term 2025-2027. Her doctoral dissertation studied Pagans in psychotherapy, and she has also presented professionally on Pagan advocacy at several conferences. Lauren has a passion for educating mental health providers on best practices for serving clients who are magical practitioners.
