China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi has condemned U.S. strikes on Venezuela and the capture of President Nicolás Maduro, saying no country has the right to act as the world’s police or impose its will on others. Speaking in Beijing during talks with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Wang stressed the importance of sovereignty, international law, and opposition to the use of force. The remarks come as Venezuela declared a national emergency following the U.S. operation and as China and Pakistan marked 75 years of diplomatic relations with renewed pledges of mutual support.
