Beautiful Umbrella Cut High Low Baby Frock With Waistband Cutting and Stitching | DIY Baby Frock

Hi everyone! Welcome back to my channel. Today, I’ll show you how to make a stunning Umbrella Cut High Low Baby Frock with frill sleeves and a waistband. This DIY project is perfect for beginners. Let’s get started!

Materials Needed:

• Fabric (1.5 to 2 meters)
• Scissors
• Measuring tape
• Pins
• Sewing machine
• Matching thread
• Elastic band (for the waistband)
• Fabric marker or chalk

Step 1: Cutting the Fabric

1. Lay your fabric flat and fold it in half.
2. Measure the length for the high low effect. For instance, 12 inches at the front and 18 inches at the back.
3. Mark the lengths on the fabric.
4. Draw an umbrella curve from the front to the back length, forming a high low shape.
5. Cut along the marked curve.

Step 2: Cutting the Frill Sleeves

1. Fold the remaining fabric.
2. Measure and mark the desired sleeve length and width (e.g., 5 inches wide).
3. Draw a frill shape by creating small waves along the edge.
4. Cut the frill sleeves out.

Step 3: Cutting the Waistband

1. Measure your baby’s waist and add 1 inch for seam allowance.
2. Cut a strip of fabric with the measurement by 4 inches wide.

Step 4: Stitching the Frock

1. Sew the sides of the frock together.
2. Hem the bottom edge of the frock with a narrow fold.
3. Attach the frill sleeves to the armholes by sewing them in place.

Step 5: Adding the Waistband

1. Fold the waistband strip in half lengthwise and iron it.
2. Sew the short ends together to create a loop.
3. Pin the waistband to the waist of the frock, right sides together.
4. Sew around the waistband, leaving a small gap.
5. Insert the elastic band through the gap and secure the ends.
6. Close the gap with a final stitch.
