Join Ravindu Liyanage, a molecular bioinformatics student at the University of Skövde, as he talks to 2024 medicine laureate Gary Ruvkun who co-discovered microRNAs, a new class of tiny RNA molecules that play a crucial role in gene regulation.
Ruvkun speaks about the moment he discovered he had received the Nobel Prize – and how he celebrated with ice cream for all of his colleagues. He also shares how humour is an important part of doing science.
