I’m an autistic amateur photographer. This fall, I’ve been experimenting with Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) and have found that it speaks to something I crave both aesthetically and emotionally. It also gives me a lot to ponder as I try to better understand how my autistic brain works.

Except for the examples of impressionist and abstract paintings, all images and video are my own. The ICM images were created in-camera as single exposures. I have done some minimal post-processing in Lightroom to enhance the image according to my artistic vision.
The examples of impressionist and abstract paintings are in the public domain and made available through artvee.com
I’m new to ICM. If you’re interested in experimenting with it or exploring how more experienced photographers use it, I recommend checking out the work and wisdom of some of these photographers:
Charlotte Bellamy
Roxanne Overton
Stephanie Johnson
Erik Malm
Doug Chinnery
Valda Bailey
Andrew S Gray
If you’ve been inspired by other ICM photographers, please let me know in the comments.
