Why Seiko Are My Favourite Watch Brand – And Why They Deserve More Respect

This isn’t about declaring Seiko the “best” watch company in the world—because that’s subjective, and frankly, there’s no single best. But for me, Seiko stands out as my personal favourite, and here’s why.

What makes Seiko truly special is their range. From affordable everyday watches to some of the most exquisite high-end pieces under the Grand Seiko and Credor names, Seiko offers something for everyone. Whether you're just getting into watches or you've been collecting for years, there's a Seiko out there that fits your taste and your budget.

But it’s more than just variety. Across the board, Seiko delivers serious value. Their craftsmanship, design, and innovation punch far above their weight—especially when compared to other brands in the same price brackets. And when you step into the world of Grand Seiko or Credor, you're seeing horology that rivals the very best Switzerland has to offer.

The problem is, I think Seiko still doesn't get the respect it deserves. Maybe it's because they’re so accessible, or because people overlook them in favor of flashier names. But when you look at what they’ve done, their legacy, and how consistent they are at every level—they’re not just a good brand. They’re a great one.
