50mm Lens Landscape Photography

Can you use a 50mm Lens for Landscape Photography? Today we look at why adding a 50mm to your camera bag might be a great choice and a lens you will use for the rest of your photography days. We also take a few example shots and show some of the photos from my Sony FE 1.8 50mm prime.

A 50mm is a great lens to add to your arsenal. You can use it for everything from portraits, journalistic work, street photography and all the way to landscapes. While it is not your go to lens for Landscape Photography, it does offer some great perspectives you may often overlook when only shooting wide or telephoto. For the value, shallow depth of field, light weight and useful perspective, I think it is a no-brainier to add a fifty millimeter lens to your kit.

Hopefully this video helps you decide if you should get and/or use a 50mm lens in your landscape photography. I use mine all the time when I want a dreamy shallow depth of field look or if I am taking closer detail shots.
