What 4 years of Hypixel Skywars Matchmaking looks like

Hypixel released Matchmaking to Solo Skywars in Early 2021, and all this did was put 1 star accounts made to bhop into 1 star new players terrorizing their first ever games. This without a doubt scared away thousands of new players. Matchmaking also forced high star players into other high star players, making the game harder for pretty much no reason, and this incentivized alot of high star players to start cheating with no consequences. This is what I believe caused Skywars to die.

That same year, the Game Master update removed all voluntary staff such as moderators on Hypixel. Many moderators that actively spectated cheaters on the server had their ranks taken away, and this was pretty much the nail in the coffin for the future of skywars, or any PvP game on Hypixel for that matter. Fresh alts scaffolding and bhopping can last hundreds of games before getting banned, and blatantly cheating high star players can last for months if not years before maybe getting banned.

This montage's purpose is to show how unfun, overly competitive and cheater infested Skywars is now, and it is all Hypixel's fault. If they never released that pointless matchmaking update and still had moderators spectating cheaters, I guarantee the game would not be this dead. Solo Skywars was a CASUAL gamemode, there was ZERO reason to add matchmaking to it.
