Originally established in 1971 as Newton Circus Food Centre and renamed Newton Food Centre in the 1990s, the hawker centre is a bustling hub of activity with rows of food stalls offering an array of local dishes. The stalls offer everything from oyster omelettes to a carrot cake that’s not quite like the ones you’re used to. And the open-air setting, with its brightly lit stalls and communal seating, creates a lively and casual dining experience.

In general, visitors to Newton Hawker centre feast on Satay, Chilli Crab, Sambal Stingray, Carrot cake, Oyster omelette, BBQ chicken wings, Hokkien mee and char kway teow.
