Steve welcomes film, TV and Broadway star TAYE DIGGS to discuss his role as dad to his 6-year-old son Walker. Taye recently divulged that he refuses to identify his son as black or white, saying instead, that since he was born to a black father and a white mother, he prefers to use the word “mixed.” Taye found himself in the middle of a heated debate about racial identity, which prompted him to write a children’s book called “Mixed Me.” Taye has gotten a lot of backlash for his point of view, and unwittingly has become a public voice for families with bi-racial children.
