In the 1970s, music fans were enthralled by the voice of Karen Carpenter. Her voice contained distinct tonal qualities that were uniquely hers and she could even access a lower register that many female singers at the time didn’t display. She was part of the singing family duo, The Carpenters, alongside her brother Richard Carpenter.
