Pools Walkthrough

This is a playthrough of the game Pools. This is NOT a full 100% complete walkthrough where every room is explored.

Pools is a fairly recent Backrooms game that has been getting a lot of attention. In fact I would say it is actually very much overhyped. The game is interesting and has lots of elements of what makes the Backrooms so iconic- the calming poolrooms, a labyrinth of mysterious passages and hallways, but the design of this game is simply not as good.

For one thing the 'story' if you can call it that, is very vague and unclear. The ending is lazy and sloppy. The Graphics are not very realistic and the textures are far too shiny and plastic looking. The entire game is also much too long and some levels are needlessly large. The final level is as big as 2 levels in one which is a bad idea. It works better if the last level is smaller because by the time I got to the last level I was already tired of the game. The movement is also very janky and the bobbing is annoying. The fact is this game is decent but nothing I would recommend. I would say at best this game is a 6 out of 10. Games like Dreamcore and the Complex or even The Backrooms: Lost Tape have much better and more realistic poolrooms you would most likely enjoy more than Pools.
