Fort Benjamin Harrison was a United States Army post located in suburban Lawrence Township, Indiana, northeast of Indianapolis, between 1906 and 1991. It is named for the 23rd United States president, Benjamin Harrison. The fort was authorized by Congress in 1903 and construction began the following year. It was officially opened in 1906 and initially served as a training ground for infantry regiments. The fort also had a prisoner of war camp during World War I.
