The 16800 was one of the first Submariners to receive a sapphire crystal and a 300m water depth rating.

The Watch:

The Rolex Submariner 16800 has a 40mm stainless steel case, with sapphire crystal. It features the Caliber 3035 movement and applied 18K white gold indices and hands filled with tritium lame.

The Details:

This Rolex Submariner 16800 is in very good condition. This piece dates to a 1984 production year, which was the first year that the white gold surrounds on the hour markers, as well as the sapphire crystal were introduced on a Submariner. The case is in excellent condition, while the bezel has scratches and wear, visible in photos. The pearl is still present on the bezel. The gloss dial has developed a matte patina with some color change around the hour markers. The lume on the hands, as well as the hour markers, is still present. The chamfers on the lugs are present and in good condition. The bracelet is also in very good condition, with the crown logo still sharp on the clasp. Bracelet reference is the Oyster 93150 with 593 end links.
