About this video: This video will show you how to open the mods folder in Minecraft. However, why do you need to find your mods folder in the first place? Well, the mods folder is where all of your Minecraft mods are stored. This means that if you want to use mods in Minecraft, you will need to find your Minecraft mods folder.

First things first, let’s assume that you can open the Minecraft Launcher. If you can’t, we will still show you how to find your mods folder, but we’ll do that after using the Minecraft Launcher.

Now that you have the Minecraft Launcher open, click on “Installations” at the top. Then, make sure that the “Modded” checkbox is ticked. You will now see the Forge, Fabric, or Quilt installation you are wanting to find the “mods” folder for. Hover over this installation and click the folder icon that appears.

This will open your .minecraft folder. In this folder, there will be a “mods” folder. This is the Minecraft mod folder where you will be able to see all of the Minecraft mods you have added. You can add more mods here, delete old mods, or otherwise manage your Minecraft mods.

With that being said, what if you don’t have a mods folder. Well, if you don’t have a mods folder that means you haven’t played Minecraft with your mod loader installed yet. You can just make a new mods folder by creating a new folder called “mods”. You can also launch Minecraft with the mod loader installation to have it create one.

What if you can’t or don’t want to use the Minecraft Launcher to find your mods folder in Minecraft? Well, in that case, open up the start menu and search for the “Run” app and open it. Then, in the text box in the app, type “%appdata%” and hit enter.

This will open your Roaming folder which will have a .minecraft folder. Open that up and you will have a mods folder. If you don’t, you can just create one. That’s how you can find your Minecraft mods folder without using the Minecraft Launcher.
