Power Rangers has always been a show based in the tokusatsu genre. We get giant monsters and transforming robots in miniature sets, a team of colorful spandex superheroes, and most importantly, practical effects. But what if Power Rangers had ventured into the world of animation? Imagine a Power Rangers cartoon! The possibilities seem endless don’t they?: dynamic fight sequences that defy the limitations of live action, expansive worlds and creatures brought to life with limitless creativity, and a chance to explore the lore of the Power Rangers universe in ways that traditional production couldn't. Yet, despite these exciting prospects, several attempts to launch an animated Power Rangers series have been made—and failed—ultimately fading into obscurity, forgotten by time. What happened?
