What's unique about the Ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium is that it also has Alexa built in. So it has a built in Alexa Speaker and Microphone meaning that it can be used like any other Alexa device similar to an Echo Dot. You can speak directly to the Ecobee Smart Thermostat Premium to change the temperature or settings but you can also ask it questions like "Alexa, Whats the weather" or "Alexa, tell me a joke"
