Pottery is one of our most popular visual arts participatory activities. This is why, as we emerged from lockdown, we introduced our Pottery@Home packs. These packs allow people who do not have the chance to attend our regular classes to make with clay at home and bring us their artworks, which we biscuit fire ready for further painting and decorating back at home.
 
Recently, having seen the packs, we were contacted by ArtCare at Salisbury District Hospital about producing packs for their Staff Arts Club programme. ArtCare recognises the benefits of taking part in creative activity and organises regular workshops for hospital staff in a variety of art forms. With restrictions on face-to-face sessions, the Pottery@Home packs were the ideal way to support the wellbeing of hospital staff. As we entered the Autumn, creating a bird feeder for the garden seemed the right project to propose. The video about how to make the bird feeder was produced with the support of ArtCare.
