Peregrine Falcon Program in Illinois - Mary Hennen

Peoria Audubon Society hosted an evening with Mary Hennen, Assistant Birds Collection Manager at the Chicago Field Museum, as she enlightened us about Peregrine Falcons in Illinois and beyond. This is a recording of Mary live-streaming her presentation about the success of bringing the Peregrine Falcon back from near extinction to the Midwest. in 1999, due to this and several other re-introduction programs, the Peregrine Falcon was delisted from the Endangered Species List.

According to Mary, "...as recently as 1960's, Peregrines had been extirpated east of the Rockies... With the recovery of the species, the Chicago Peregrine Program now directs its focus towards monitoring Peregrines in Illinois."
