The Dark Reality of Kanda Videos in Nepal

In Nepal, when a private or personal video of someone gets leaked online, people call it a “Kanda.”
But what we often forget is that behind every “kanda” is a real person, someone’s daughter, sister, friend whose life is turned upside down.

This isn’t just a scandal. It’s a form of digital violence.
It causes deep emotional trauma, shame, and lifelong consequences for the survivors.

📢 Understand the harm.
📢 Don’t stay silent.
📢 Speak up when you see abuse online.
📢 Document and report it.
📢 Help survivors find support, not shame.

This video, created in collaboration with UNESCO, is a call to create a safer digital space, raise awareness, build responsibility, and provide support.

तर हामी प्रायः बिर्सन्छौं, त्यो भिडियोमा देखिएकी व्यक्ति पनि कसैकी छोरी, दिदी, साथी हुन सक्छिन् जसको जीवन एकाएक नरकजस्तै बन्न पुग्छ।

यो केवल स्क्यान्डल होइन, डिजिटल हिंसा हो।
यसले मानसिक तनाव, लाज, र दीर्घकालीन पीडा दिन्छ।
