When it comes to stringing, knowing tips and tricks can be a real time saver as well as improvement of quality. Here is how to safely and easily open a tennis grommet hole, making space for a second string to fit through, especially when looking to tie off.
Tools Needed:
An Awl
A scrap piece of string, preferably a thick polyester
A lubricant (e.g. Vaseline, wax, or lip balm)
Basic Steps:
1. Lubricate the awl
2. Insert the awl, twisting to minimize the odds of getting it stuck
3. Re-insert the awl with one end of the scrap string
4. Re-insert the awl with both ends of the scrap string
