Take a look at this highly advanced materials recycling facility (MRF) we've just installed at Blakeley’s Waste Management in Wigan. It processes 20 tonnes per hour of commercial and industrial mixed solid waste and dry mixed recyclables and is a high-tech facility that uses five optical sorting units (NIR) to recover six fractions, as well as mechanical sorting to ensure maximum recycling capability. In total, the plant can recover 15 different materials as well as RDF for the residues.
The plant offers Blakeley's total flexibility in being able to process different types of waste streams. It can process dry mixed recyclables and curbside collections as well as mixed commercial waste streams. It is designed to handle these fractions readily to obtain maximum recycling and, as waste streams change over time, it will mean Blakeley's can adapt to customers' changing needs and still offer them maximum recovery and diversion from landfill in the future.
