A hard-drinking engineer steals a carved crocodile fetish and slowly succumbs to a grotesque metamorphosis, adopting reptilian habits and an overpowering musk as river beasts gather around him. His guide races upriver to stop the curse, only to witness a moonlit tableau where the line between man and crocodile is brutally erased.
