Looking to make the most of your one day in Rocky Mountain National Park? In this video, I guide you through the perfect east-to-west route starting at the eastern entrance near Estes Park, traveling the iconic Trail Ridge Road, and finishing with the scenic Adams Falls Trail near Grand Lake.

I stop at all the most famous overlooks along the way and cover a few short trails recommended for those offering incredible views with minimal effort. Whether you're planning a day trip to RMNP or just want to experience the highest continuous paved road in the U.S., this video has everything you need.

🛣️ Route Overview – Key Stops Along Trail Ridge Road (East to West)
Beav3r Meadows Entrance Station – Starting point near Estes Park
Many Parks Curve Overlook – First sweeping views of Moraine and Horseshoe Parks
Rainbow Curve Overlook – Great drop into Hidden Valley + first restroom on the road
Forest Canyon Overlook – Dramatic views at nearly 12,000 ft, watch for elevation effects
Rock Cut Overlook – One of the best views of the alpine landscape
Iceberg Pass – High elevation saddle often flanked by snow into early summer
G0re Range Overlook – Epic mountain panorama of the distant G0re Range

🏔️ Alpine Visitor Center
Highest Visitor Center in the U.S. (~11,796 ft)
Gift shop, food, and restrooms
Connects to the Alpine Ridge Trail – short 0.6 mi climb to 12,005 ft with stunning views

🥾 3 Short Trails Worth Doing
Alpine Ridge Trail – Steep but short stair-step climb from the Alpine Visitor Center
Tundra Communities Trail / Toll Memorial Trail – From Rock Cut, paved 1 mi RT trail through fragile tundra and mushroom rocks
The East Ute Trail offers peaceful alpine tundra views starting near the Alpine Visitor Center, with a relatively easy, uncrowded path. In the video, I mention the West Ute Trail, but you can enjoy short sections of either trail without committing to the full hike.
Bonus: if you are exiting through the west entrance, consider Adams Fall Trail. Located just east of Grand Lake in the East Inlet area, technically within RMNP

Medicine Bow Curve – Lookout over the Never Summer Mountains
Fairview Point Curve – Final major overlook before entering the Kawuneeche Valley
