Homeless Aboriginal women living in Darwin speak out about life in "the long grass", living in bushland camps around the City of Darwin, capital of the Northern Territory of Australia. Tammie Garbu Garbu describes harassment by police and City Council, but in general claims that she and her friends enjoy the lifestyle of living close to the land as their ancestors have done. There are still bush foods to be found in the bush, on the beaches, amongst the mangroves and in the tidal creeks. Important ceremonies are also held in secluded bushland sites, as this channel's Youtube videos show. However, bushland and mangroves are being destroyed by greedy developers as Darwin grows and "wastelands" become more valuable.
