"Tri Khanda" (Three Streams)

A Traditional Odissi Choreography

"Tri Khanda" is a poignant and elegant Odissi choreography that weaves together three traditional songs, each representing a distinct facet of Odisha's rich cultural heritage.

First Stream: "Bansi Teji Hela" (Mahari Tradition)

The choreography begins with the lilting melody of "Bansi Teji Hela", a traditional Mahari song. The dancer's intricate footwork and graceful movements bring to life the vibrant spirit of Mahari.

Second Stream: "Dekhiba Para Asare" (Gotipua Tradition)

The second segment features the soulful "Dekhiba Para Asare", a traditional Gotipua song that speaks of the longing and separation of Radha and Krishna. The dancer's expressive abhinaya (facial expressions) and nuanced gestures convey the emotional depth and poignancy of Gotipua.

Third Stream: "Bhangi Chahan" (Odissi Tradition)

The choreography concludes with the majestic "Bhangi Chahan" (Bha Champu), a traditional Odissi song.
