Badminton Power Couple, Saina Nehwal & Parupalli Kashyap With Rahul Kanwal | Jab We Met

Badminton stars Saina Nehwal and Parupalli Kashyap, who recently tied the knot, were in a candid chat with India Today's Rahul Kanwal.

Saina and Kashyap, the 2014 CWG gold medallist, first met at the Pullela Gopichand badminton academy where they have been training since 2005.

Last year, Saina was seen partying with Kashyap along with other teammates ahead of the third season of Premier Badminton League (PBL). They were also teammates at Awadhe Warriors.

Saina has been in good form after battling knee injury which has been troubling her for the past couple of years.

The Hyderabad athlete reached the final of Indonesia Masters at the start of 2018 and then followed it up with a gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast after beating compatriot PV Sindhu in the final.

Saina settled for the bronze medal in the Asian Games in the women's singles after losing to world No.1 Tai Tzu Ying of Taiwan. It was her first medal at the Asiad and the first singles medals at the Games for India in 36 years before PV Sindhu bagged a silver.

After clinching the bronze medal, Saina had included Kashyap's name in her thank you note on twitter along with coach Gopichand and her physios.
