열흘째: 밀라노근교 베로나Verona

베로나에서의 하루.
아레나는 안으로 들어가지 않고 밖에서 구경했는데, 그 웅장한 모습이 인상적이었습니다. 로마 시대의 유산을 그대로 느낄 수 있는 곳이었어요.
그 후 줄리엣의 집으로 갔습니다. 유명한 발코니에서 사진을 찍는 사람들도 많고 , 줄리엣 동상을 만지면 행운이 온다는 말에 줄이 길게 늘어서 있었습니다. 주변에는 기념품 가게들도 많아 구경하는 재미가 있었습니다.
다음으로 Piazza delle Erbe 광장에서 다양한 기념품과 지역 특산품을 판매하는 노점들을 구경했습니다. 그리고 Castel San Pietro로 가서 아름다운 베로나 시내와 아디제 강의 전경을 감상했습니다. 계단을 오르는 힘든 길이었지만 그만큼 멋진 뷰가 기다리고 있었습니다.
점심으로는 리조토를 먹었는데, 유명한 지역 음식이라 시도해봤습니다. 맛은 괜찮았지만 꼭 먹어야 할 음식은 아니었어요. 마지막으로 젤라또를 먹으며 달콤한 마무리를 했습니다.
베로나는 역사와 매력이 가득한 도시로, 아름다운 풍경과 맛있는 음식이 어우러진 즐거운 여행이었습니다. 의외로 사람이 많아서 놀랐습니다.

I spent a wonderful day in Verona, starting with a visit to the Arena di Verona. I didn’t go inside, but I admired the impressive structure from the outside. It's an iconic Roman amphitheater, and even just standing in front of it, you can feel its historical significance.

Next, I made my way to Juliet's House. The famous balcony from the Romeo and Juliet story was just as charming as I imagined, and it was fun to see other visitors taking photos and exploring the nearby love-lock wall. The area around it, filled with souvenir shops, added to the romantic atmosphere.

I then strolled through Piazza delle Erbe, a lively square with vendors selling fresh produce and local goods. It was a great spot to get a taste of everyday life in Verona. Afterward, I headed to Castel San Pietro for a beautiful panoramic view of the city and the Adige River. The walk up was a bit of a challenge, but the view made it totally worth it.

For lunch, I tried Risotto, which is a popular dish in the region. It was nice, but not something I’d say is a must-try—just a solid, tasty meal. To end my meal, I indulged in some gelato, which was the perfect sweet treat to finish off the day.

Verona is a city full of charm and history, and I had a lovely time exploring its landmarks, enjoying the food, and soaking in the beautiful views.
