Speaker Bios

Dave Shackleford

Dave Shackleford, a SANS analyst, instructor, course author, GIAC technical director and member of the board of directors for the SANS Technology Institute, is the founder and principal consultant with Voodoo Security. He has consulted with hundreds of organizations in the areas of security, regulatory compliance, and network architecture and engineering. A VMware vExpert, Dave has extensive experience designing and configuring secure virtualized infrastructures. He previously worked as chief security officer for Configuresoft and CTO for the Center for Internet Security. Dave currently helps lead the Atlanta chapter of the Cloud Security Alliance.

Jim Reavis

As co-founder, CEO and driving force of the Cloud Security Alliance, Jim Reavis is helping shape the future of information security and related technology industries. For many years, Jim has worked in the information security industry, and his innovative thinking about emerging security trends has been published and presented widely throughout the industry and has influenced many. Jim is widely quoted in the press and has worked with hundreds of corporations on their information security strategy and technology roadmaps.

Pawan Shankar

Pawan Shankar has more than nine years of experience in enterprise networking and security. Previously, he worked for Cisco as a sales engineer and a product manager working with large enterprises on datacenter/cloud networking and security solutions. He also spent time at Dome9 (acquired by Check Point), leading their security and compliance product marketing efforts. He is now a senior product marketing manager at Sysdig, focusing on its container security product, Sysdig Secure. Pawan holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from UCLA and an MBA from UC Berkeley Haas.

Eric Thomas

Eric Thomas serves as director of cloud products for IT analytics company ExtraHop. Prior to taking this role, Eric led the ExtraHop professional services team, and draws on over 20 years of experience in IT operations.
