Holding On”. 18x24, oil on lead primed aluminum #Artefexart panel. This painting is of a Russian girl living in Taipei, Taiwan. When we headed to Tamsui district to catch some reference, the sky was grey and stormy, which is no surprise for Taiwan. Same thing happened with every photoshoot I did there. We were going to give up, but I decided to persist despite the pouring rain and setting sun. Finally as the sun was about to abandon us for good, the rain took a break. We took our shots during this fleeting moment. After all is said and done, I feel that the storm helped me accomplish the melancholy mood that this piece benefits from. When things don’t go according to plan, try to adjust your plan to the situation and see if life will surprise you!
