We partnered with our sister publication, The Buzz, to test out Chevrolet’s BrightDrop 400 electric van. With over 400 cubic feet of cargo capacity, driver-friendly tech, and a design built for efficiency, this all-electric step van aims to make last-mile delivery easier and more comfortable.
The BrightDrop 400 rides on GM’s Ultium platform, sharing its EV foundation with other Chevrolet models. For larger jobs, the BrightDrop 600 offers 614 cubic feet of space, but as we found during our drive, the 400’s layout is more than capable of handling a full day’s work.
From a powered bulkhead door that opens and closes automatically, to an impressive suite of high-definition cameras providing 360-degree awareness, the BrightDrop 400 delivers both convenience and confidence behind the wheel. Safety features include pedestrian detection, ultrasonic sensors, cross-traffic alerts, and a clear heads-up display.
Inside, storage is everywhere—overhead bins, a deep dash well, a roomy center console, and three cupholders (including one oversized). Comfort gets equal attention, with a quiet cabin, supportive seats, and Google built-in for hands-free navigation and charging station searches.
From maneuverability to cargo management, the BrightDrop 400 proves it is built for delivery fleets.
Part two of our review is coming soon over on The Buzz, where we dive deeper into the platform and specs.
