I hate rent.
So I sold all of my stuff and lived out of my car the past three months in order to buy a van, for the second time.
Four years ago, I built my first van with no prior experience and turned it into a livable space, only to sell it after life threw some curveballs. Now, living in San Francisco on a salary that barely covers rent, I decided to embrace van life again, but this time with a bigger goal: financial freedom and homeownership before 30.
I just picked up a 2013 Chevrolet Roadtrek Ranger with big plans to transform it for full time van life throughout college. Over the next six months, I’ll document every step of the rebuild, from reupholstering furniture and upgrading the electrical system to making it stealthy enough for city life.
