In this episode we take a look at London in the 18th century, from the grimy backstreets where filth and poverty reigned, and take in the pleasures of Vauxhall Gardens and the richly adorned courtesans who frequented it.
We enter sweaty and smoke filled coffee houses, where the aromas of coffee beans and vomit compete with each other.
We take a stroll with William Hogarth to Gin Lane, and view all the misery and vice attendant there.
Take my arm and we shall attend a fairground atmosphere public execution and cheer on the condemned to their enforced journey to the next life.
