The 2007 AVP Tour started with bang in Miami when Nicole Branagh and Elaine Youngs met Jennifer Kessy and April Ross in the Finals. It was Kessy and Ross' first tournament as partners and they entered at the #11 seed.

This finals match was actually a rematch as Kessy and Ross sent Branagh and Youngs to the Contender's Bracket with a quarterfinal upset earlier in the tournament, and onto a path where Nicole and EY had to get through Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh Jennings to reach the Finals.
