Greenhouse ticked off | Broad bean buffet for the mice | Organic matter as mulch | Winter is coming

Welcome to my channel. Where I document life and gardening both at home and at the allotment. I am based in Lincolnshire , UK.
I am thrilled the greenhouse at home is now complete this will make a massive difference to my growing season and I can concentrate on growing in the greenhouses at the allotment. At some point I will replace the broken panes with the right size once I have come across them or make it work with smaller panes and overlap them. I do have smaller panes left over from Plot 1 greenhouse .

Its always a risk overwintering broad beans as there's less food about the rodents do tend to get them. This was only being used as a green manure so what will be will be. To make sure you give them the best shot you can grow them in pots and plant in the ground when they are bigger in a greenhouse or polytunnel. You can of course net them also this will help keep critters away. On this occasion I was using the seed as a green manure scenario so I left it as it is. I think they have eaten most of them but we will see what happens. On inspection today there looked to be two seedlings actually growing 😂

Plot 2 the compost area needs some time spending on it chopping up a bit more and then covering. Plot 2 we only took on this year back in January so we are still finding our feet a little with that. The hope is I can work on the soil and cover a few beds next year whilst I work on the fruit area at plot 2 at the side of the shed where raspberry canes are already in situe.
The soil is a heavy clay which I've dug several times to break it up
I will cover all beds with manure and cardboard and go from there this year down at Plot 2.

The Peppers will be over wintered in the now newly refurbished home greenhouse lovingly referred to as Greenhouse 3 ❤️

Allotment visits during the winter are as follows
1. A lot more random and unplanned I tend to pop up for an hour.
2. I potter rather than graft 😂
3. All beds are turned around and compost and mulch sorted usually for the following Spring.
4. My first full year working with two plots so this is the plan , things may change.
