Over 250 business leaders from across the world today gathered in Lusaka for the Lobito Corridor project investment forum.
The Lobito Corridor project will link the Democratic Republic of Congo DRC and Zambia to Lobito port in Angola and help address logistics challenges that affect copper and cobalt exports.
The rail project is the most significant for Zambia since the Tanzania Zambia Railways was built close to 50 years ago.
Once complete, the Lobito Corridor that connects Zambia, DR Congo and Angola is expected to increase Zambia's exports to almost 15 billion dollars.
Speaking during the Partnership for Global Infrastructure and Investment Lobito Corridor Private Sector Investment Forum, President HAKAINDE HICHILEMA described the impact that will be created by the project as dramatic.
