My fluval fx6 was producing knocking sound, vibrating and pulsing at the same time.
I know that this is a common issue for fluval FX series filter.
This issue was due to the worn out impeller.
The impeller is inside the fluval fx6 motor.
Before that, you could try to remove the impeller and clean it.
Sometimes the cleaning would solve the pulsing and vibrating issue.
If it is still not working, replacing the old impeller with a new one is the only way.
I replaced my fluval fx6 impeller with a new one as shown in this video.
After replacing the impeller, my fluval fx6 works just fine without noise and vibration.
